It's good to talk, especially on the phone. The trouble is, contrary to the old saying, telephone talk is not particularly cheap. Unless of course you invest in an amazing Firebox VoIP Cyberphone, a revolutionary new way to contact friends and family which doesn’t cost the Earth... In fact, it’s FREE!

Our VoIP Cyberphone is a fully functional USB-powered telephone which comes bundled with Skype™, free software which uses new VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology to allow you to make free calls to other VoIP Cyberphones and obscenely low cost calls to landlines and mobiles all over the world.

All you need is an Internet connection: Broadband is best - although the system still works with a 56k dial-up - and you can start talking to the 68,000,000 people worldwide who have already signed up for Skype™.

Firebox VoIP Cyberphone All you do is bung in the CD, plug the phone into the nearest USB socket and dial away. The nifty VoIP technology then digitally converts your voice through your broadband internet connection and on to its final destination - be it a fellow Cyberphone owner, a normal landline or even a mobile phone - anywhere in the world. It's easier than... er, picking up the phone!

The VoIP Cyberphone even gives you more features than your existing landline with a choice of ringing tones, missed call and contact lists, call length timings, conference calling, touch dialling and answer phone service all rolled into one!

But here's the best bit: using the chic little VoIP Cyberphone you can talk to fellow Skype users for absolutely nothing. Nada. Nowt. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Perfect if you've got friends and relatives strewn across the globe. But what about regular phone calls, we hear you ask? Not a problem, because thanks to Skype you can make truly phenomenal savings calling normal phones with your VoIP. Up to 85% off standard BT rates, to be precise.

Firebox VoIP Cyberphone

Firebox VoIP Cyberphone To give you an idea of how much you can save, a call to a mobile phone in the US costs a measly 1.2p per minute. No, really! Check out www.skype.com and see for yourself. There's no pesky subscription fee either. All you do is buy pay-as-you-go "SkypeOut credits" bought from their idiot-proof web page.

Firebox VoIP Cyberphone By now you're probably wondering what the catch is. Well in all honesty there isn't one. And if you're worried that VoIP conversations sound like they're being conducted via a pair of soup cans on string, worry not. Skype to Skype connections sound every bit as good as today's high quality mobiles.

Put simply, this technology is going to be huge. So if you've got a computer and you use the phone, what are you waiting for? The Firebox VoIP Cyberphone is most definitely for you-hoo!

    A. All Firebox VoIP Cyberphone handsets are full duplex.

  • Q. I cannot hear the other person or the other person cannot hear me during a VoIP call?
    A. This can be caused if;
    1. Your Firebox VoIP Cyberphone USB audio is muted.
    2. Your soft-phone application is not configured to use Firebox VoIP Cyberphone USB audio.
    3. You are accessing the Internet through a Firewall, Proxy or NAT system. Generally these allow outgoing data without interference, but with only 'recognised' data types being allowed back in. Hence they hear you but you can't hear them.
    4. The H.323 and SIP standards set out how Internet Telephone data needs to be handled by a Proxy Server, NAT and Firewall. Check with your system administrator to see if your systems are configured correctly.

  • Q. How to find my own IP address?
    A. For windows 2000 and XP open a DOS prompt window and type in IPCONFIG /all. For Windows 98 or ME users, Click Start then Run and type in winipcfg. This will then display various information about your PC's networking and connection devices such as Modems and NIC's (Network Interface Cards).

  • Q. I can't dial any numbers what could be wrong?
    A. There could be several reasons for this:
    • If you have just installed the Firebox VoIP Cyberphone driver or integration try restarting your computer with the Firebox VoIP Cyberphone attached to your computers USB port.
    • Make sure there are no device conflicts in your computers Device Manager.
